After way too long I finally have organization!! whew!!

My latest project = skinny ties! My inspiration came from my boyfriend who loves them to death but made a complaint that nice ones are too expensive. So of course like most crafters I thought, psh well I can make that! So here they are! I definitely need to work on my sewing skills, my seams are a little crooked in the back but nothing I cant fix. I had so much fun making these ties and now have so many people asking me to make more that im out of supplies! This project is a keeper :)

For christmas I decided to make soap and bath salts for all the ladies I know and I have to say I completely bombed making soap! At first I had no fun, I was messing up measurements and my molds were coming out wrong or not setting right. I was ready to throw in the towel until my mom reminded me the beauty of soap was that I could just re melt my soap and try again! So thats what I did! Finally got the hang of it and I think they came out pretty good for my first time! The green soap I followed a recipe from a book and thats Green tea and mint soap. I got a little brave and added just a hint of Plumeria just to give it a smell. The other one is my winning soap that ive gotten the most complements on and of course that was my last minute throw some ingredients together soap! Its lavendar and orange peel! (the orange peel adds some grit to it for exfoliating) But that one was made with olive oil glycerin so there is some extra moisture involved also. The green tea soap ill never make again but the lavendar I might just have to re do :)

tip: I read in a book that having some type of packaging over the soap keeps the sent in so by the time you give it away or sell it, you dont have boring soap. So for these I just tightly wrapped some saran wrap around them and it did the trick!

My button earrings got me in an earring mood! These little beauties are so stylish! I used string and wrapped it around…ok ill tell you, a paperclip! You can get them to bend however youd like and they are so cheap! To hold the string still I used some clear drying fabric glue to make sure everything stays in place! :)

There are my new favorite things! Button earrings! I love them so much I wear them everyday and before then I never changed the earrings I wore! So easy and cheap to make, its too hard to resist them :)

finished it late at night in my pjs! :)

ps. be careful with the power of your blow dryer. i didnt have any problems with my mini version but on this big one, sometimes the pressure was too strong if i held it certain ways and it would send wax flying all over the canvas! luckily it happened early on so the rest of the wax covered the blemishes and all in all my outcome was great! This one is currently hanging in my friends house and will soon be moved to her elementary school classroom!

yay it turned out great despite being on cardboard! i tried to use a mixture of crayons so i have regular, gel and glitter on here. The glitter crayons melted faster than the others so i had to watch the flow of the wax. Then the gel crayons (the bright yellow on here) melted slower but the color turned out amazing sooo ill definitely use them again! time to move on to the big guy…

step #1: im doing a test run on this project i found online to see how things are going to go! i plan on making my best friend a much bigger version on canvas. (sadly this one was done on an old scabble box lid because it was the strongest cardboard i found right away haha)
